Savour The Flavour Of The Summer Season



Mango-Coconut Green Smoothie




It takes only 5 minutes to prepare one large glass of smoothie

All you need to prepare this smoothie is 

1 cup fresh washed spinach leaves

1 cup fresh mango cubes
1/2 medium banana
3/4 cup light coconut milk (can substitute almond milk, but the end result might not be as creamy and won't taste coconutty)
1/2 cup orange juice

Optional additions:


1 tablespoon ground flaxseeds (these add some more fiber plus omega-3 fatty acids and a little protein)

Chopped mango or coconut for topping

Directions


1. Place all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth. Pour into glasses, add toppings if desired, and serve with a straw.


Nutrition facts


1. Apart from the generous amounts of carbohydrates and fibre, mangoes are rich in vitamin A. They also contain trace elements like zinc, selenium and manganese.

2. It is well known that spinach is a rich source of iron and vitamin A but it is also a rich source for folate and vitamin C
3. Banana is not only a rich source for naturally obtained sugar and calcium but also rich in pyridoxine(Vitamin B6)
4. Coconut is a good source of potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc and the essential amino acid arginine.
5. Oranges provide vitamin C in abundance. They also provide a wide variety of amino acids, bioflavonoids, trace elements and minerals.

Cool Yummy Ice Cream for the sweltering summers is here!



Belgian Dark Chocolate Ice cream 


Ingredients:

2 cups coconut cream (thick malai from 3 green tender coconuts)

2 cups dates ½ cups cocoa powder (add more as per taste)
½cup roasted almonds

Method:


Add 2 cups coconut cream from tender green coconut in a blender.

Grind the thick coconut cream with very little water. Make it into a smooth paste.
Grind the now prepared paste, dates & cocoa powder all together.
Freeze for 8 hours. Blend again all the ingredients together to break the crystals.
Now add 1/2 cup roasted almonds and mix.
Freeze for few hours and serve.

Nutrition facts


1. Cocoa powder provides a good supply of iron, proteins and carbohydrates.

2. Coconut is a good source of potassium, magnesium, phosphorus, zinc and the essential amino acid arginine.
3. Dates provide riboflavin/ Vitamin B2, niacin/ vitamin B 3, potassium, glutamic acid, essential aminio acids and iron.
4. Almonds provide co-enzyme Q10, tyrosine, vitamin b complex, calcium and silicon.

Spice it up with Moong Chaat

Treat your tummy with a nutritious breakfast



All you need is


  • 2 cups sprouted moong beans
  • ½ tsp turmeric
  • 1 potato, steamed and cubed
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1 cucumber, diced
  • Lemon juice
  • Red chilli powder
  • Coriander, chopped fine
  • Amchur powder
  • Chaat masala
  • 1 finely chopped onion (optional)
Preparing it
  • Steam the moong beans with some turmeric for about 15 minutes.
  • Add in the rest of the ingredients and serve.
It is as simple as that!

Nutrition facts
  • Moong is a rich source of protein in this dish as it is simply steamed and not cooked
  • Tomatoes contain 9 different types of amino acids and are rich in vitamin A
  • Potatoes are a rich source of carbohydrates
  • Cucumber is a valuable source of minerals

Fresh mornings with Banana Green Smoothie


Banana Green Smoothie



All you need for this is

1. 2 bananas
2. 4-5 spinach leaves

Preparing it

1. Add some water (as per the consistency you want) to the banana and spinach leaves, blend well.
2. Do not strain it.

Consume the goodness of the Green Smoothie early in the morning!

You can add ginger and mint to get an enchanting flavor.

This dish is suitable for people following whole food plant based diet
