HEALTH IS A STATE OF COMPLETE PHYSICAL, MENTAL AND SOCIAL WELL BEING AND NOT MERELY THE ABSENCE OF DISEASE OR INFIRMITY, with this objective in mind the world health organization was established on 7th April 1948, which is celebrated as WORLD HEALTH DAY every year with the motive to create disease awareness and educate the mass to prevent various innumerable diseases, as per the adage “PREVENTION IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN CURE”.
The theme for world health day 2016 is DIABETES - PREVENTING THE BITTER SWEETNESS OF LIFE. Diabetes, a metabolic life style disorder has become the trend setter of diseases, it has gained the status of an epidemic disease affecting more than 62 million Indian population. Awareness and prevention of this devastating disease is of utmost importance as it has its squeal if not treated correctly and effectively.
Let us all learn to help ourselves in treating and preventing diabetes. Being In the 21st century of a fast moving competitive Indian lifestyle we seldom have time for ourselves, as we are always on a move and the frown on our forehead has almost become a permanent part of our appearance. Our lifestyle does not permit us to have healthy home cooked food, but encourages us to have the easy to eat junk. We have very readily and happily accepted the western food culture but failed to practice our very own culture of exercise and yoga. Stress is one of the major contributory factors apart from sedentary life style, dietary errors, inherited genetic component and many other factors.
Educating the masses is the cornerstone of diabetes self-management, which includes appropriate knowledge about nutrition and diet, physical activity, medications, glucose monitoring and psychosocial adjustments. To educate yourself further on diabetes and know of what to eat how to eat, how to exercise and train yourself holistically for a better and a healthy diabetic free life, grab the opportunity of glancing through our upcoming newsletter ‘H’ - DIABETES, THE BITTER SWEETNESS OF LIFE. There is a wonderful HOLISTIC clinic facility also available at ‘the other song’. Here the individual is assessed holistically and is also well groomed with the latest diet plans and nutrition tips as per their individual body needs along with an appropriate exercise plan along with homoeopathic medications as and when required.
We also have a specialized diabetic clinic at ‘the other song’, where a team of doctors which includes a Senior Diabetologist, a Senior Homoeopathic Consultant, a Dietician and a Resident doctor, perform a complete holistic assessment and check-up of the individual and offer the necessary treatment and therapies required to help manage and control their diabetes holistically
One can make the best use of these wonderful opportunities that we have to offer at ‘the other song’ as “He who has health, has hope; and he who has hope, has everything!”- THOMAS CARLYLE
In near time we are coming up with a Diabetes awareness programme called “ SUGAR, SALT and FLAB” on the 19th of June 2016 from 10-12 PM. Where a senior diabetologist, homoeopathic physician and a lifestyle educator will guide us to travel the journey of life with ease. Let us travel the Healthy Journey together!
